within the revolution

historypoliticsreligionideology

reading hitchens' god is not great. the chapter on "the case against secularism."

found this castro line.

the church said "extra ecclesiam, nulla salus." outside the church, no salvation.

castro flipped it: "within the revolution anything, outside the revolution — nothing."

same structure. different cathedral. same messianic illusion.

the inversion

both draw a hard line. inside: you're valid. outside: you don't exist.

the church did this for souls. castro for political subjects. but the geometry is the same — a boundary that eats all value into itself.

revolutionaries become what they fought. the pattern is stronger than the ideology.

the mutation

the book calls liberation theology an "oxymoronic mutation" in castro's periphery.

priests using marx to read the gospel. the poor as the blessed. structural sin, not personal.

castro tolerated it because it helped the revolution. the church hated it because it threatened their monopoly.

nobody asked if the whole framework was broken.

the pattern

once you see it, you see it everywhere.

"with us or against us." "no platform." "canceled."

same line, softer edges. the messianic impulse doesn't care which flag it carries.
