Hi, I'm Damar – another tech bro from Yogyakarta, Indonesia. I'm passionate about all things tech, and I hope to make a dent in the universe with it.
Work, Pre-LLM
I started out in the pre-LLM era, publishing research on semantic similarity detection as my bachelor's degree thesis. I then spent 7+ years engineering data systems across some of Indonesia's leading companies and industries, working with Astra International, Ruangguru, and Valbury Asia Futures.
Most of that time, my world was data: designing architectures, building pipelines, organizing warehouses, and turning data into something people could actually use.
Work (?), Post-LLM
Riding the wave, I worked on several AI initiatives such as AI News Summarizer, RAG Chatbot, and AI eKYC. Today, I'm an AI & Data Engineer at EY, working closer to real-world problems as a forward-deployed engineer for companies around the world.
Beyond the Code
When I'm away from the screen, I'm a loving husband, a father to my beautiful little daughter, listening to Arctic Monkeys religiously, and growing my humble diecast collection.
